You can't always get what you want
I am an avid "people watcher". Whenever I go anywhere I like to observe the people around me. Be it in a bar watching the "players" try to score or in a park watching families interact. I love it. One thing I have noticed though is distubing to me. Americans as a whole have this feeling of entitlement and it seems that it is getting out of hand. I notice it mainly in the twenty-something crowd, but even those in the older age brackets are showing it as well. Most of us feel as though if it is something we want, we should be entitled to get it...no matter what rules and regulations surround the circumstance. We will push, shove, bitch and moan until we get what we want. It's really a disgusting trend and all it really does is show to others what an ass you are and it proves to you that being an ass will get you what you want. It's time to start being stand-up people and realizing that you can't always get what you want. Corporate America needs to stop coddling the consumer and parents need to stop giving their kids everything they want just to stop them from screaming. Parents, don't go down this path with your children. Give your children what they want, but don't do it as an alternative to hearing them cry, you're just teaching them early on that bitching gets you what you want. Let's try to erase this trend. I've been on the other side of your rants. I've been called every name in the book. All you are doing is embarrassing yourself. Next time, instead of being an ass, be civil and I'll bet the person on the other end of the phone or counter, what-have-you, will be a lot more willing to help you out with your problem.

Another Year Down
As most of you know it was my 29th birthday yesterday. All in all I had a great day. I went to work as usual and just did my thing there. Right before 5 Pete showed up with flowers in hand which I though was very sweet. We went back to my place and he gave me my present which was 2 books I had been wanting. One is a huge compilation of pulp fiction from the 20s 30s and 40s. I am so excited to get started on that one!! The other one is a book filled with all the hiking trails in Colorado which you can take your dog on. I can not wait to try them out once Inigo gets here in August! After present time we went to dinner. If you have never had Ethiopian food before, I HIGHLY recommend it. It was so frickin good!!! I'l have to admit that I was a bit wary at first, but it was definitely a great meal. One of the best I have had in a long time, and it seemed to be relatively healthy too. I felt like I ate a substantive meal, but I didn't feel weighed down by it. I will definitely be going back there. After dinner we went to Borders and just bummed around for a bit. I ended up buying myself another book. It was one of the "Get Fuzzy" comic strip compilation books. To repeat myself (kinda), if you haven't read "Get Fuzzy" I HIGHLY reccommend it. Very funny stuff. So after Borders we went and saw "Baby Mama". That was definitely a good flick. The actors were great in it (Steve Martin was awesome) and the story line was good too. I know that Pete hadn't been too keen on going to see the "chick flick", but he was laughing all the way through it and admitted that it was a great movie. So, I had a great birthday. The best part of it all was spending it with the man I love.

Click the strip to get the whole thing, I'm not sure how to resize this.

E For Excellent!
So recently I went on a quest to find me a corset. Not one of the cutesy Victoria's Secret ones, but an actualy corset. I was really looking to find a vintage style one from like the 40's or 50s. I found this really great website called Pandora's Choice. (www.pandoraschoice.com if you're interested) They have all vintage style lingerie, from the "bullet bra" to the lace frilly panties to corsets. In my search to find this I aso decided to find out what my actual bra size is. I have been wearing a 36DD lately, but I have found that those were becoming small. There are several different ways out there that people tell you to measure for your bra size. The best source I found was on the site for a plastic surgeon. He had developed a chart based on the circumference of your rib cage (measure under your breasts) and the width of your actual breast. (measure that from armpit to breast bone while laying down measuring over your nipple) If you're interested in finding out your size your can go to his website www.drpechter.com. A little over half-way down there is a link to the chart. So, anyway, I go about measuring myself. I get to the part where I have to measure the width of my breast and find that it is measuring 12 inches!! 12 INCHES?!?!?! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!?! So that means I have been lugging around 2 feet of boob on my chest? No wonder my back hurts! No wonder I am 20 pounds overweight! It's all in my damn chest!!! I, my friends, am an E cup! So after much thinking about this latest dilemma, I have decided that I want a breast reduction. I have done a lot of research on it the past few days and it is definitely something that I want to have done. The only major drawback is that most doctors won't do it on a woman who is still in her childbearing years who plans on having children. There's something to do with breast milk production. Apparantly if the nipple must be detached to do the procedure then the woman may not be able to breast feed. While I would love to be able to breast feed my future children, I think that having this procedure done is far more important at this juncture. I mean, who knows how long it will be before I even have kids, 10 years before I am done? Am I supposed to put up with a bad back, headaches, curved spine, just because I might not be able to breast feed someday? I don't think so. Now all I need to do is get me some health insurance, cause lord knows I won't be able to pay for this on my own. My new job does offer health benefits, but I am unsure as to what they would cover. Unfortunately the literature they give you to start out with isn't very descriptive. For instance, they have a basic plan and a premium plan. All they tell you about either is that the premium costs $20 more a month than the basic. What am I getting for my money here? I'll pay $20 extra a month if it will cover the cost to chop my boobies in half! Yes, folk, I said half! I want to go back down to a C cup. I can buy the cutesy little bras again!! No more granny bras. No more having to order off the internet cause stores dont carry bras in Gargantuan! Plus, I am only 5'1". I think a pair of C's would suit my frame so much better. I was a C cup for many years. And then they started growing and growing and growing and growing.....you get the picture. Hopefully someday soon I can actually get this done. But until then, I am E for EXCELLENT!!

Perceptions from Society

So I'm reading up on all my tabloid gossip today and I have to say that I am utterly appalled at the way the media is depicting Britney Spears. I want to know in which sick twisted universe she is fat?!?!?! I know my body isn't even close to how good hers looks......and I haven't had two kids!! It is so sickening the emphasis that Hollywood and the media place on their "starlets" being stick thin. It's no wonder that they are turning to cocaine and spiraling out of control. I honestly feel bad for these girls. I don't think that the average person would be able to deal with the pressure that is placed on them on a day to day basis. I feel that they are all very strong individuals who just couldn't take the pressure anymore so they snapped. Tell me honestly......wouldn't you? And then to go and tell a girl who is what......maybe a size 4.......that she is fat?!?!?!?! Come on now. I want to see ab pics of all the tabloid writers writing their articles. Yes, there's the argument that she could have picked a better outfit to better "hide" her "flaws", but I honestly didn't see any damn flaws. The only time it really seemed like her stomach stuck out was when she was arching her back. Let's think about this one......DUH! It's not like she was sporting a muffin top over her bottoms. I just don't get it. And people wonder why girls are anorexic and bulemic? Take it from their perspective. "Well, this article says that Britney Spears is fat. My tummy bulges out there too. I need to lose weight. Oh damn.....I just ate an oreo.........ralph!"
